Architecture

Lucas Schwering Architects: Michael Sparkman has been named president of the Lexington firm. Matthew Brooks has been named vice president of the firm. Larry Schwering has been named director.

Finance

American Founders Bank: Trina Miller has joined the bank as vice president, head of compliance and Community Reinvestment Act. Miller was previously employed as a compliance officer with the FDIC and has served as compliance officer for several financial institutions.

Bank of the Bluegrass & Trust Co.: Joey Mills has been named vice president, chief lending officer. John Cullen has been named vice president, loan review officer. Landmon "Calvin" Petrey has been named branch manager of the bank's downtown location. Karen Whitman has been promoted to assistant vice president, director of sales and service support. Stacy Coriell has been named vice president, deposit officer.

Community Trust and Investment Co.: Bill Rizer has been named vice president and relationship development officer.

Forcht Group of Kentucky: Rodney Shockley has been named executive vice president/general counsel for the Corbin and Lexington-based corporation. David Smith has been named market president for the bank group's Louisville market.

National City Bank: Tony Spencer has been named business banking officer, vice president.

Community Action Partnership: Kip Bowmar, Community Action Kentucky's executive director, has been re-elected as first vice chair.

Kentucky Chamber of Commerce: The following have been named to the executive committee for 2009: Darby Turner, Greenebaum, Doll McDonald, chairman; Jude Thompson, 2008 chairman; Joan Coleman, AT&T Kentucky; chairwoman elect for 2010; Craig Grant, PNC Bank, treasurer; James Booth, Booth Energy; Luther Deaton, Central Bank & Trust; Pat D'Eramo, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky; Bill Jones, U.S. Bank; Keith Gannon, Boneal; Jeffrey Bringardner, Humana-Kentucky; Mary Jean Riley, North American Stainless; Nick Rowe, Kentucky American Water; Mike Owsley, English, Lucas, Priest and Owsley; Tim Mosher, Kentucky Power. University of Kentucky: Jerry Weisenfluh has been named associate director of the Kentucky Geological Survey, a research entity at UK.

KET: Thomas B. Smith has been named director of personnel. The Lexington native previously practiced labor and employment law in South Carolina.
