■ The North Lexington Church of Christ on Hume Rd. will host a Ladies' Inspiration Day. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast. ■ Porter Memorial Baptist Church, 4300 Nicholasville Road, Lexington, will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a homecoming celebration, beginning with a hospitality room and reception for current and former staff members, 2-3:30 p.m. Practice for the anniversary choir will begin at 3:30 p.m. under the direction of Bill Crawford and former director Bob Cook. At 4:30 p.m., any present or former members of Porter Chorale, Christian Singers, or New Life are invited to join in the service. Former pastors, the Rev. J.K. Pierce and the Rev. Albert Griffin will speak. Dinner will follow with a sing-along afterward in the sanctuary, beginning at 7 p.m.

Community Christian, 434 Kenton Street, Lexington, will host a fall revival at 7 p.m. by Elder Ronald Ross, pastor of Temple of Deliverance in Richmond. The revival continues through Oct. 10.

Tuesday

■ Cathedral of Christ the King, 299 Colony Blvd., Lexington, will host author and teacher Margaret Ralph on the topic "What is a Gospel" from 7 to 9 p.m. in Hehman Hall. Admission is free but registration is recommended. This is the first of four lectures on Christ in the Gospels to be given each Tuesday evening in October. ■ Second Presbyterian Church, 460 East Main in Lexington, will host the annual Pace-Warren Lecture Series Oct. 12-13. The guest lecturer is the Rev. Eileen W. Lindner, former deputy general secretary of the National Council of Churches and director of the child advocacy office. She is the author of numerous books and articles on a variety of child advocacy subjects, including When Churches Mind Children. Lindner will speak at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services on Oct. 12 on "Called to Remove the Stumbling Blocks". At adult education classes between the services she will discuss "Receiving the Little Ones: Strategies for Ministry With/To Children" and during worship at 7 p.m., her sermon will address "Weeping in the Playtime of Others". At 9 a.m. on Oct. 13, Lindner will have coffee and meet with Lexington area clergy and those interested in advocacy for children and families. The series is free.
